Industrial Technical Support Engineer
Role:
Provide technical and applications support for commercial, automated Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) products and services offered by Park Systems. The Industrial Technical Support Engineer will support our customer base in the field and in house. This position will also aid our sales and marketing teams in generating and presenting technical material.
Duties:
• Perform installations and provide training of our industrial products at customer sites or in house.
• Provide technical consultations and customer support via phone, email, internet, or on-site visit.
• Report and record customer issues and implement solutions.
• Perform repair and preventive maintenance as well as analytical service as needed in-house or at customer sites.
• Support marketing events in the field and in-house such as trade exhibitions, conferences, user workshops, etc.
• Provide analytical services and option products sales support via technical consultations, quotes generations, from leads follow ups to closing of deals, as well as hands-on technical support in house or at customer sites as needed.
• Present and demonstrate our products and technologies in person and online.
• Generate application notes and best known method (BKM) documents.
• Generate sample data and write reports to increase competitiveness of the sales team.
• Cooperate with the marketing team to develop sales materials.
• Support the sales team and work with other scientists and R&D engineers to win sales.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree is a plus) in physics, materials science, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 2 years hands-on experience with AFM. Prior professional experience in the AFM industry a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work well with others, to cooperate, and to share success with the whole team.
• Willingness to travel up to 70 % U.S. and international travel (North and Latin America).
• Proven track record of technical publications and presentations desirable.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds from floor to hip height.
• Ability to work in the US and qualified to obtain security clearances as needed.
